The wreck of the USAT has a long story.

This US Navy frighter has been sunk near Lombok in 1941 by the Japanese but it arrived to Tulamben where it ran aground.

In 1963 the eruption of the Agung volcano pushed the ship in the water .

It was a blessing or the divers .

This artificial reef is at about 50 meters from the shore .

It lays between 6 to 30 meters deep which allows divers of any level to enjoy it.

The metal cluster offers us 120 meters of coral settlement and a large number of fish who use this beautiful site as home.

If you feel like waking up early .

The bump head parrot fish stay on the wreck until the sunrise, swimming to warm up before they go further to feed.

Some turtles and pygmy seahorses Bargiganti and Denise can also be seen on the wreck as well as leaf and ghost pipe fish.

Great night dive where we can admire lots of shrimps, crabs and Spanish dancers.

This dive is named after the road at the entrance of Amed.

This dive is recommended as a night dive.

There are some rocks in te shallow part followed by a gentle black sand slope.

On a couple of moorings on the site we can find a large number of skeleton shrimps of various colors.

Nudibranchs, ghost pipe fish and bobtail cuttlefish are few of the many species that can be found there to delight the fans of macro diving.

This site is located at about 500 meters of the center at the mouth of a river.

The settlings that came from the river during the rainy season become a loam for a large number of quite rare species.

A few rocks are scattered in the shallow zone after that comes a gentle slope of black sand.

In this site we can often see clown frog fish, ghost pipe fish, harlequin shrimps and plenty of other species beloved by the underwater photographs and cameramen.

Some concrete structures have been set to help corals and juveniles to grow.

Shallow dive which can allow the divers to stay longer under water.

This dive site is named after the village that edges Amed.

Beautiful drift dive that can contain many gorgeous surprises.

Depending on the tide the current can be very strong and allow the divers travel a long distance without doing too much effort.

At the beginning of the dive we arrive on a field of eels, then come hundreds of blue triggerfish,  some pygmy seahorses and a large variety of colourful fish.

The corals are healthy and the giant baril sponges set the start of the dive.

Then it is turtles’, barracudas’ and even with tip sharks’ time to satisfy us.

The end of te dive is on a coral garden where we can enjoy the landscape during the safety stop.

This dive site is obviously named after the drop off located on the side of Jemeluk in Amed.

This drop off quickly goes down to 50 meters or more and lets us admire beautiful gorgons as well as soft and hard corals.

Schools of travelies can be seen as well as some turtles, sharks and white tip sharks.

Many trigger, butterflies and angel fish enlighten this drift dive.

Pygmy seahorses can sometimes be seen along with clown, leaf and even some frog fish.

But the relief might as well make you forget all of this and just make you enjoy the landscape.

This dive site is named after the fifty pyramids that have been immersed on it.

Very nice drift dive in which you can see a large number of underwater species.

It starts by garden eels followed by multiple blue spotted stingrays, pygmy Bargiganti seahorses, leaf and frog fish and a large number of colorful fish.

Turtles can often be sen in the end of the dive as well as some occasional white tip sharks.

A second wall allows us to discover many corals in the 35 meters area.

Very good dive to familiarize with more sportive drift dives.
